Listen, I understand very well the importance of self-promotion but when you have people doing it left and right, it begins to look awfully pompous.
We get it, you have a story you’re proud of, a picture you think deserves more likes, or you want to make it as a big shot writer but if you're starting out I beg you to please humble yourself.
There is nothing that gets under my skin more than someone who talks the talk but doesn't back it up. I don’t want to follow for following someone who doesn’t show they care about their work much less someone who is more concerned with numbers versus the content they are actually putting out.

Self Promotion is an amazing tool when done tastefully.
I am tired of clicking on articles on this platform just to be met with half-assed short pieces and 95% self-promotion. To those writers, I ask, so what? Why should I click on your profile just because you post daily and think you’re hot stuff.
I want to see well-written pieces with links and research to back up arguments. I was under the impression that people were reading and rereading their pieces before publishing. Now I read some articles and wonder why the person has the status…
